The ever wonderful Adam Ant has been venturing onto the stage at increasingly frequent intervals over the past year in the environs of London town and I was fortunate enough to make it to one of his recent shows at the 100 Club on Oxford Street. With a focus on earlier material, a spirited band of musical conspirators, this was a fine night and Adam Ant, as you can see from the photos I snapped, remains physical… oh so, physical… if perhaps fragile in other respects though – the night did teeter at times on the edge of Adam’s changing mood.
However, if you get a chance to attend a show and have a taste for the earlier Ants material, be there… it’s a must.
Nice to see Adam in front of a crowd, where he belongs. I caught the ’93 Persuasion club tour of The States and it was a super night. I sat out the Prince Charming Review when it hit town a decade earlier, but this was a show to my preference. It looks like Adam has still got it. It’s amusing to see him resemble a Johnny Depp version of himself.
I know what you mean about the Johnny Depp comparison… but he is looking great, no doubt about it and as you say, on stage where he belongs.
Hello, I run the clothing label Miss Fortune and Adam’s backing singers are wearing a couple of my dresses in these photos, I was wondering if you could put me in touch with whoever took the pics as I was wondering if I could get copies and if there are any colour versions? đŸ™‚ Cheers, Laura
Hi Laura… Have sent you an e-mail about the pics…
